Dalton and Bora just tried to T-bone each other during the second race in the pre-Worlds warm up (Nationals) in Dubai.
The conditions featured solid breeze and an extra nasty sea state.
As a result of the near collision , Bora catapulted his body through his USA 1 sail. I would say, not an easy task with a full technora layout and high quality seam tapes. This was the 18 series proto from china with the distinctive orange batten pockets.
I would be pretty bummed, but we planned in advance. Bora also has the 17, which until now has had my magic melges number on it, #379. The sail is 99% identical to the USA 1, so we are still very much in business.
Only 4 boats completed the second of two races. Arnaud Psarogaghis was ripping, and posted two bullets. He’s definitely one to keep an eye on.
